Barbara Butler – Company and Executive Secretary

Barbara has a background in history with a special interest in Christian Socialism. When she lived in Zambia Barbara encountered real poverty for the first time. It made her realise that nothing had really changed on a world level and when she returned home she decided to get involved in bringing people together across cultures and countries, listening to each other and working together for justice and peace. In 1989 we decided to make Christians Aware an ecumenical charity from which we could help make this possible. Barbara has helped grow the charity from this time, working with others across the world including participating in many visits, working with many other charities and people of all faiths. Barbara has edited the magazine and published a range of books.

Eliam is always ready to answer questions and to provide resources to our members.

Away from Christians Aware and the church, you can often find him watching figure skating competitions – we know well his ability to skate on thin ice!
